About the project

Railroad Way will provide a new pedestrian connection and gateway linking the waterfront to Pioneer Square and the Stadiums. This street will become a pedestrian-oriented plaza, with limited access for an adjacent garage. This flexible public space will also extend between First Avenue South and Occidental Avenue South, providing public space where people can gather around stadium events.

The pedestrian plaza will be constructed by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) as part of their South Access - Surface Streets Connection Project.
