Plazas on Railroad Way
Project status

About the project
The Plazas on Railroad Way provide a new pedestrian connection and gateway linking the waterfront to Pioneer Square and the Stadiums. This street functions as a pedestrian-oriented plaza, with limited access for an adjacent garage. As a flexible public space, which extends between First Avenue South and Occidental Avenue South, this area provides public space where people can gather around stadium events. People on bikes and scooters can connect to the City Side multi-use trail to the south.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) constructed these plazas as part of their South Access - Surface Streets Connection Project.
