Festival Centroamericano 2018

August 26, 2018
12 - 6:30 pm

South Park Community Center

The Festival Centro Americano will bring together members of the various Seattle Neighborhoods that are from or have family from the seven Central American countries (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama), This will be the first festival in Seattle dedicated to learning about and sharing the cultural expressions from Central America. Often times, Central Americans are mistaken for being Mexican without having knowledge about other Spanish speaking countries. This is why embracing Central American heritage and culture to a community that is not well exposed to it can offer a great opportunity to learn something new especially with the different ethnic groups (Indigenous, African, Mestizo, Latino) that will be involved in the festival. Also, the the Festival Centro Americano will be free for the public. will unite these different ethic groups from each of the Central American countries to exchange cultures and learn from one another. This is a family-oriented event and we will create a Central American village that will have vendors providing food, art, information, and other services.

This event is free and open to the public. Learn more about this event!
